The Town of Esopus Recreation Commission shall consist of five Commissioners who shall be residents of the Town and shall serve at the pleasure of the Town Board for a term of five years, and the members of such Commission first appointed shall be appointed for such terms that the term of one Commissioner shall expire annually thereafter; and their successors shall thereafter be appointed to serve terms of years which shall total in number the membership of such Commission. The Summer Program Director, chosen by the Town Board, and a parks employee employed by the Town of Esopus shall serve as ex officio members of the Commission.
The Town of Esopus Recreation Commission shall advise the Town Board, notwithstanding the terms set forth above, for the purpose of identification, coordination and systemization of all the recreation needs of the Town of Esopus, including but not limited to playgrounds, parks, neighborhood recreation centers, events and festivals, with all the powers and responsibilities of local authorities under Article 13 of the General Municipal Law.

Town Park Rental
The Town of Esopus has two parks, Ross Park and Freer Beach, which may be reserved and rented from May 1st through October 9th. Applications for the 2017 season will be accepted on or after March 1st for Town of Esopus residents, and on or after April 3rd for non-residents.
Applications must be completed at the Town Clerk's office at Town Hall when payment is made. Please call the Town Clerk at 845-331-3709 for availability. Visit our Town Parks page for more details and pictures.

Alcoholic beverages will be allowed provided that insurance coverage is obtained for at least $1,000,000.00 (one million dollars) listing the Town of Esopus as an additional insured. This policy must be filed with the Town Clerk at least 10 (ten) days prior to the date scheduled for the event
- For: Youth Ages 5-13 years old (Must turn 5 by December 1, 2017)
- When: June 26 - August 11, 9 am- 3 pm Monday- Friday (No camp on July 4th)
- Where: Ross Park, Port Ewen, NY
- Residents: $250 per child
- Non-Residents: $300 per child
- There may be additional fees for special events during camp
Registration takes place in the Community Center at the Town Hall at 284 Broadway

Health Director/ Counselor- $11/hr
All Directors must be 21 years old or older and have the required First Aid /CPR certifications as per NYS Health Dept. (www.health.ny.gov)
Counselors - $9.70/hr must be 16 years old by June 26, 2017.
