TOWN OF ESOPUS WATERFRONT ADVISORY BOARD
Minutes of the August 28, 2007 Meeting

Present:   Marion Zimmer, Rosemarie Kristofy, Kathy Weitze, Cathy Quick

Excused: Chet Allen, William Benson, Don Cole, John McMichael

Board Liaison: Deborah Silvestro

MINUTES

Chairman Zimmer called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.  The minutes of the July meeting were reviewed by the Board.

MOTION to approve the July minutes and payroll were made by Cathy Quick and seconded by John McMichael.

CHAIRMAN REPORT

Zimmer reported there would be a joint meeting of the Boards at the Esopus library with a guest speaker in September.  She also reported that water chestnut harvesting was carried on late through the season due to maintenance and repair issues.  Channels had been cut so that kayakers had access to the river.  She also wanted to thank Mike Lang and the Board for soliciting donations to complete repairs to the harvester.

 
ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS - Don Cole  (absent)

PLANNING BOARD

Zimmer reported that John McMichael had discussed retiring from the WAB and Planning Board due to health issues.  She said no new applications had been forwarded from the Planning Board.

ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD

Cathy Quick reported that there was some good discussion at the last meeting even though there was no quorum.  She said the Board was planning another tree give-away in the spring and that they would have a table at the Fall Festival.  There was also further discussion on composting and back yard burning. Silvestro thought it would be a good idea for the not-for-profits and Town organizations to have tables in the Town Hall.

MOTION to adjourn the August 2007 WAB meeting was made by Rosemary Kristofy and seconded by Cathy Quick.  All present in favor. None opposed.
