Dear Town of Esopus Residents,

The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County in collaboration with the Town of Esopus is happy to share this summer’s camp options for an exciting Monday-Friday Day Camp experience for 1st – 8th graders. Each day is filled with activities to keep the camper having fun and trying new things. There are sports, arts and crafts, local field trips, and more.

Last summer there were only 37 Esopus children enrolled in camp at Ross Park. When weighing in that the park must be closed off to the entirety of our Town residents for the duration of the camp hours, it has been decided a better way to serve residents of the Town is to offer a monetary discount of at least $100 per child per session to register for one of the two available options.

This year there are two Camp options being offered. Camp Seewackamano is in Shokan, NY with bus transportation from the Dollar General parking lot here in Port Ewen included in the cost. Camp Wiltmeet is in New Paltz, and you will need to arrange for your child’s transportation. Please note the difference in cost is transportation factored in for Camp Seewackamano. There will be NO camp offered this summer at Ross Park.

Camp availability continues to fill up and is on a first come first served plan. Interested Esopus Residents should quickly connect with the Town and verify your residency. We will then send the YMCA Camp Registrar a list of verified residents with your email contact information. The YMCA will then send each camper on the list an email with a link to register. Families must register within 10 days of receipt of the email or discount will be forfeited. Families may reaffirm residency with the Town to re-establish camp discount.
